Plot
A farmer commits suicide after he lost his land to Haribhai, an industrialist. His wife, Janaki, files a case against Haribhai. Jagdish Jolly and Jagdishwar Jolly appear in this case against each other. As both their arguments made the court hilarious, Justice Tripathi blamed the Jollys for his stress. Later, Vikram from London appears for Haribhai, making the case stronger. Will Jolly shatter the case and bring justice to Janaki?
Star Performance
Akshay and Arshad share good chemistry and make the court scenes hilarious. However, Akshay’s court scenes are longer than Arshad’s, paving the way for him to perform seriously. Saurabh Shukla’s performance is excellent. Gajraj is convincing as the industrialist. Seema Biswas and Ram Kapoor have done what was required. Huma and Amrita are just present.
Analysis
The film deals with a sensitive issue with satirical comedy. The dialogues are neatly penned, especially the ones given to Arshad. The screenplay moves at a brisk pace, making us engaged throughout. Although the court scenes are dramatic, they are thought-provoking. While some arguments are hilarious, many are designed with sharp dialogues, and they are to the point. The female leads didn’t get any significant roles to perform, and were used only for a limited time. The visuals, editing, and the BGM served the purpose well.
